Yes, it was very expensive, but it was good and convenient. Sad to see it closed, but another pizza place is coming in its place, Brooklyn something.... pizza.

Is this the one in Dulles or Leesburg? Or both?

I don't know about Leesburg, but I know the one in Dulles by Wegmans/Pei Wei/Target is closed. We went there often. I didn't think it was expensive. $2.50 for a piece of pizza that filled my kid was a cheap lunch to me!!

    Say it ain't so!

When did this happen? I was in there a couple of weeks ago.

ZPizza is one of the best around. Two slices and a sida for $6.98 wasn't bad. And the quality and variety were so good. Yes, it was a bit more expensive, but you don't get Tuscan mushroom pizzas and other specialties like that anywhere else.

I hope Leesburg location is still open - they do an even better job there I think.

Here's the latest on Zpizza. The Ashburn location is already closed as others have reported. The Leesburg location will close in the next week or two. Both are no longer on the Zpizza Web site.

The owner of Manhattan's Pizza has bought the Zpizza franchises and is closing them. He's expanding and adding a new Manhattan's restaurant in the same shopping center in Leesburg where the current Zpizza is located. I think he also bought the South Riding Zpizza and is taking that down too.

He claims he may keep some of the favorite Zpizza menu items and add them to the Manhattan lineup, but I'm not sure he can create the same exact taste without the same sauce and other ingredients.

I like Manhattan's too, I just wish their expansion wasn't at the expense of Zpizza.

That's actually very nice to see. Without pushing an opinion on who's pizza is better, I love that a local chain has taken over a national one.

Fair enough and I usually agree but zPizza is a franchise and at least one of the ones closing is owned by an Ashburn resident.

Sorry to hear that Manhattan's bought Z's pizza, I really like it there, but don't care for Manhattan's at all. Just my opinion

well if they are going the gourmet route, maybe it'll be totally different than their regular fare- that way they can keep the audience tht loves them and grow into those that don't! :)

that would be the smart thing to so anyway- if i see one more duplicated menu/food style, in Ashburn, i just might SCREAM. :conf2: what would be the point of dividing their already loyal Manhattan's customers between two locations! They should call the gourmet line- Greenwich Village Pies... or Tribeca Pizza. OOH- Soho Slices! lol
marketing reps- don't beat down my door... :notfunny:

    Here's the latest on Zpizza.

The Ashburn location still has the name on the front, but is now Brooklyn Pizza.

The Leesburg location was still open as of Sunday, but could shut down any time. Manhattan Pizza, the new owner, has a store location just around the corner that is being completed. It could be open by the end of the year, in which case they'd close down the Zpizza.

I went to the Zpizza location in Herndon the other day. Nice piping hot pizza. It was great and it seemed more fresh than the slices I used to get in Ashburn.

BTW, there's a pretty good pizza joint in Chantilly called Flippin Pizza and the prices are real low. Usually a two-slice special with soda is $5 plus tax. But for lunch today I got it for $3.86 - maybe they have a weekday lunch special.

That's a great price for a quality pizza.

    Check it out.

A new pizza place has opened in the Dulles 28 Centre where Z Pizza was. I think it's called Brooklyn Pizza. One of the hairdressers from the Bubbles next door said it was good. Sandaddy said it was there but I think it just actually opened about two weeks ago.

    Villager,

The replacement pizza place has been open for several months. But, trust me, the pizza isn't very good. And they haven't even bothered to put a sign up. It just says "Pizza."

It's too bad. I was always popping in for a couple of slices at Z, but I'll never go to this place. Hopefully they'll go out of business and a better pizza place will come in.

I think that what the hairdresser said was that they had good salads. Maybe she hasn't tried the pizza. She said they opened about two weeks ago so maybe there was something in there in between Z and Brooklyn...? I don't know but regardless, the pizza place isn't in a location I would visit often - there are good places with easier access.
