Flick in the Sticks – Tonight (July 6th)

Rise of the Guardians Movie PosterIt’s our 9th season and Flicks is presenting another night of family entertainment. Come join us for tonight’s showing of Rise of the Guardians at approximately 8:45PM on the Nature Center lawn. Bring a picnic dinner – or pick up something from one of the great local restaurants – and stake out your spot on the lawn. Coolers, lawn chairs, and picnic blankets are welcome. Free popcorn and drinks are provided. This is a popular event, so come early for a good seat!

One lucky person will take home the DVD of tonight’s movie in a random drawing from all attendees. Tickets for the drawing are distributed before the movie starts. Drawing will be held immediately after the movie and winner must be present.

When the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth, the Immortal Guardians team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world. PG, 97 mins. [Parental Guidance]

BrewFest Bus – Sat., Jun. 22

Enjoy a “A Celebration of American Beer” and leave the driving to us. The  Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Morven Park in Leesburg. Your Events Committee is sponsoring a Commercial 57 Passenger Luxury Bus (bathroom included) to shuttle between the Nature Center and the Festival. The Bus will depart from the Nature Center at even hours (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm). The Bus will depart the Festival for the return trip to the Nature Center at odd hours (1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm). The cost for the bus ride is a healthy $0. Check out the Festival at novabrewfest.com/summer/ and purchase your tickets early or at the gate. First come, first served for seating on the bus.

Broadlands Live! Committee

The Broadlands Live Committee is looking for helping hands as we organize the summer concert series held at Hillside Park next to the Stone House.  Funding of the concert series is provided by the Broadlands Association, Inc. and sponsors.
