The Broadlands 20th Anniversary Party was a huge success and we hope you and your family enjoyed this extraordinary milestone event.  What a treasure to celebrate with residents, old and new, as we’ve watched our lovely community change and grow over the years.  We would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers that took time out of their busy schedules to plan, organize, and work this amazing event, as well as special thanks to Van Metre for their generous sponsorships.  We look forward to continuing to host a wide variety of events for all to enjoy and encourage you to participate in the planning fun! Bring your family for pony rides, petting zoo, mechanical bull, rock wall, inflatables, balloon twisters, face painting, and glitter tattoos! Many of the rides and attractions are donated by Van Metre.

Entertainment by acoustic player, Jon Rooks and headliner, The Plunge, so bring your dancing shoes, chairs & blankets. Come hungry and thirsty! Beer and wine sales (100% IDing; cash only), food trucks include Yummy Pig, Killer Tomato, My Sons Kettle Corn and
Dippin’ Dots. Support our local clubs – Briar Woods sport teams will be running games, selling drinks, hot dogs, candy, etc. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED. **Don’t be late! The first 60 children to visit the table by the stage
will get bandanas and cowboy hats AND the first 60 adults to buy beer/wine will get a free reusable Broadlands solo cup or wine “glass”! We need volunteers to help make this event a success. If you are available to lend a hand please sign up at:

Broadlands Pools are Put to Good Use!

On Saturday, August 1, Broadlands was pleased to allow the “A” Shift crew of the Moorefield Fire and Rescue, Company 23 to perform water drills at our Community Center pool. This crew is entirely made up of career full time staff.

They used the time to get in some good physical training and practice different scenarios they could encounter in a real life emergency. They also practiced EMS skills and protocols when dealing with drowning/near drowning victims, both pediatric and adults, as well as neck and spinal cord injuries using backboards with straps and foam blocks.
