Bullfrog Pond County Survey

December 28, 2017

The County of Loudoun is responsible for the four inlet pipes that take stormwater into the pond.  Representatives of the county’s Department of General Services, Public Works Division oversee the stormwater management program.  Their engineers have advised us that they will be surveying the pond inlets in the coming weeks to delineate the tree preserve and protected wetlands areas.  Land surveyors will mark these areas with stakes and/or tape.  Please DO NOT REMOVE or relocate these survey markers.  The survey work will not encroach onto any private property and will not hinder activities.  We expect surveying to be performed in January.  Additional information regarding work to be performed will be distributed in the coming months as further details are received.

If you have questions regarding this information, please contact Karl E. Evans, Senior Stormwater Engineer at 703-771-5358 or Karl.Evans@loudoun.gov.

Fire Lane Painting

Dec 5, Update: The contractor continues to clean and prep the roads, which should be completed by Thursday 12/7.  Painting and stenciling will continue into next week, which will include the Nature Center Parking lot.

Nov 28: Specialty Services of Virginia has been contracted to do fire lane painting.  Beginning Monday, November 27, they began prepping by hydroblasting the old paint and debris off the curbs. This will take a few days. Next, they will blow the debris off the roads and (if needed) may come back to sweep the streets.  They will then paint all the lanes yellow and then come back to do the black FIRE LANE stenciling.  Because they will do the hydroblasting first, there may be debris on the roads for a few days while they move through the remaining sections.  Work is weather dependent.
