The County of Loudoun is responsible for the four inlet pipes that take stormwater into Bullfrog pond.  Representatives of the county’s Department of General Services, Public Works Division oversee the stormwater management program.  Residents surrounding the pond were previously notified that they would be surveying the pond inlets in order to delineate the tree preserve and protected wetlands areas, marked these areas with stakes, and contracted with The Care of Trees to remove trees that were obstructing the inlets.  The county has now contracted with Madigan Construction to remove sediment build up and refurbish rip rap on each of these inlets.  This work will allow the inlets to work as they were designed by slowing down the flow of water from stormwater runoff into the pond.

The equipment may cause damage to the trail and/or the turf.  We will address any necessary trail repairs this fall and the county will restore any damaged turf.
