last year we saw Asset Construction as a sponsor on a Brambleton message board, so we called them for an estimate. Of 4 companies we received estimates from, they weren't the cheapest or most expensive, but they seemed to understand what The Man wanted better than anyone else, and he had a good feeling from Kevin, the owner, that he would be an honest and fair contractor. we almost went with someone else, but certain factors changed our minds and we are SO glad we went with Asset Construction!!

so- they got our business. Not to say there weren't hurdles- there were a few delays and misunderstandings, however- Kevin handled them to our satisfaction. we know that with big jobs there are going to be issues- it's ALL in the resolution, and we came through each issue satsfied., and compared to what we've heard on other basement jobs, we had relatively few minor things to be addressed. we didn't come in much over our budget for things we didn't add and upgrade ourselves!

the end result is undeniably SPECTACULAR. we would highly recommend Asset Construction to anyone wanting top quality work WITHOUT being overpriced. yes you will pay more than some others will quote you, but you will get master craftsmen, reliability, professionalism, and an attention to detail that will give you peace of mind and leave you with a stunning basement!

This is impressive! I love, love, love your bar! We just finished our basement 2 years ago and wish we had your decorating eye.......... ours is so plain & basic. And I really like the way you hid the bulkhead.

Did you do all the details/design yourself or did you hire a decorator? Probably next year we'll need to have someone come in and help us decorate our basement and I really like all the choices in the finishes.

hokie, no decorator, mainly my husband.s vision the boy and I helped pick out things like carpet and paint, I had the idea of the in-wall wine rack, and the bar was the creation of an amazing guy named silvestri who works for asset.

...and for your bar, do you know if this was all custom woodwork or did the guys use some pre-fab wood panels etc.?

We have been getting estimates from contractors for our basement (about 1800 sq feet) and it is looking more expensive than we hoped. I think we are in the $70-80k range for a finished project that would include 1br, bar, theater, exercise room, wine cellar, family room... with carpet and some built-ins.

The bar is becoming the biggest challenge... hard to design.

dave, our basement is around 1100 sqft at most, get an estimate from asset!price may be around that range or more, but you get what you pay for . the bar is 100% custom, no panels.
the cabinets are stock with a custom glaze.
