Grounds Maintenance

Maintained by Heritage Landscape Services (HLS)

HLS uses several products for fertilization and weed control in common areas, both pre- and post-emergent. These products are mixed with water and applied exclusively to the turf. All HLS technicians are certified by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) and adhere to all state and federal regulations. After the products are applied, it takes approximately two hours for the treated area to dry, during which time it is not safe to walk on the turf. Once dry, the products are absorbed into the plants, leaving no residual chemicals on the leaves. This application method is safe since the mixture consists of 90% water and only 10% chemical, making it an environmentally friendly procedure. HLS also posts notices near the property prior to application, notifies the homeowners’ association (HOA) a week in advance, and posts a notice after the application has been completed.
